Unit 6 - Critical Approach - Task 1 Questionnaire

Unit 6 - Critical Approach - Task 1

In the questionnaire, I asked demographic question as it allowed me to understand the responders more about their age, gender and what area they are from. Over 50 percentage of the participants were ages 19 plus and 40 percentage were under 18. I had a mixture of both genders, and I had gathered that male audience thought that GTA wasn’t a violet game and a game that made people more violet. However, the female audience said that it made people violet and they had used a lot of sexual stereotypes towards females.

Overall, the construction of content and the mode of address allowed to target the Lush primary audience with the colour scheme and the correct font and image. For an example, if they had used different colour scheme like green or blue it would have the same effect. The questionnaire allowed to show that the mode of the address such the Bank Holiday Delivery allows to warn the consumers of the deadline of the offers that they used and this allows the audience to buyer more products.

Unit 6 - Critical Approach - Task 3

The selection of content of the overall website is black and white, which allows to help to target their unisex audience. The images also has the same colour scheme with the fonts and colour. For an example, they have used Impact font for a bold look.  The construction of content is the navigation for the website is simple to understand and easy to get around. This is important as the users for the website is young. The anchorage makes the message for the audience more sharp and clean. For this example, it allows to inform the users what they are. Code & Conventions such as the linguistic, visual and symbolic of any website is by adding a security policies for the users. This also allows the users to feel safer with their purchases.

Unit 23: Multi-Camera Techniques Brief - Evalutation

Once we completed our practice ran, we wanted to go through the show from the beginning to the ending without any interruption and mistake, which was complete. On the day of the production, we had in total 15 minutes to set the 3 cameras, tables, sounds and the headphones for the cameramen and women. However, this became a problem has one of the cameramen came late but this was dealt with as everyone helped each other. The middle camera didn’t need anyone to control it as it was still and only focusing on the studio news reader.

In my role, I believe I learnt my mistakes from the previous ran such as cutting to fast on the visual mixer. I spoke to the cameramen and women and explain the camera shot list as they didn’t know what they had to do. I made sure each other was the right shot and there wasn’t any movement involved. I found that they wasn’t any issues that we faced as the sound and lighting was passed out successfully.

At the end of the production, I realised I gained a lot of experience such as understanding different personality in the group and how I express my emotion to them. For an example, I faced couple of arguments in the group, but we both apologised after the final production which helped us to work together and to be professional in the work area.

In the post production, we realised that the sound wasn't recorded properly therefore we used the practise clips with the audio to present the sound and the final show with the no audio to present the camerawork and visual mixing. We added the clips of the advert, and the social pages to the final piece, which worked really well together.

Unit 23: Multi-Camera Techniques Brief - Studio Diary/ Meeting

So this was our final run before the actually show, which went extremely well and organised. We had to allocate to our induvial roles within the team and went through the show. I believe we performed to the best and professional standards. It took us 15 mins to set the equipment’s and all the scripts and paperwork was printed and ready to use.

Overall, I believe I did more than my job for an example, I helped Maarya with the host and telling the cameramen and women how to set up. I was kind of the director as everyone listened to me and came to me if there was a problem instead of Dani. For an example, the floor manager needed help with the set up so I helped.

Unit 23: Multi-Camera Techniques Brief - Studio Diary/ Reporting Meeting Berfin Tunc

Once we ran through our show in the show, we had a little meeting about what we can change and improve. We discussed issues and correction for the next run through.

Issues:

  • 4th Ipad Vision Mix, not to click off the app so it can be saved
  • Teleprompter up and running to practise with - Host to learn his parts also
  • Cameramen need to study shot list
  • Sound and Lighting needs to be improved

Feedback:

  • Sound - separate sound, get a jingle
  • Get footage from Ipad/Saved
  • Handheld camera to get shots of guests on their game and ipad.
  • The set like the tables needs to be back so it's all black at the back.

Unit 23: Multi-Camera Techniques Brief - Studio Diary (09/01/17)

Dear Diary
(09/01/17)
As a class we learnt how to setup the monitors (IPads) syncing them by a network server and once they were all connected we all had a practise. I had a go on the actually filming so learning the transition like crossfade and cuts, but also on vision mixing as this was going to be my role in the production. The format on the app was clear and easy to use so I understood all the features and elements quickly. Our cameramen were able to play around for the software, which gained them more knowledge about it. In order to go live you have to tap to preview then double tap to select it.

Unit 23: Multi-Camera Techniques Brief - Studio Diary (04/01/17)

Dear Diary

(04/01/17)

So, today was our first day in the studio and I started with helping with the set and setting up the camera. As the visual mixer, I had to discuss the camera shot list with the cameramen and camerawomen, which helped us to the plan for filming. Once the cast for the show was seated, Dani discussed what was involved with the structure and content for the show. I made sure that everyone was comfortable and knew what their was doing crew and cast, as I couldn’t do the vision mixing because my IPad wasn’t set up for filming. I also helped with Zak with lighting, but this wasn’t his actually job as his the sound. Most of the group crew worked well together as they all knew what was meant to do done expect 2 people who we had issues with. We solved this by doing practise through.

Unit 23: Multi-Camera Techniques Brief - Studio Diary

This was our first camera set up, and it included 3 IPads and 3 tripods.Tom and Tyler showed us the apps and the features that it had such as the fades and discover. This app allowed to be connected to the other Ipads and the Visual Mixer.
This allowed me to have more knowledge about the app as it was new to us, but also as I'm the visual mixer I gained skills of how to use it.
